2 virtual training sessions will be provided and hosted by the Praed Foundation, 501(c)3. The Praed Foundation maintains the copyrights on a variety of tools that support the Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM) framework.
The Praed Foundation will be hosting 2 virtual workshops. The first workshop, the 2-Day TCOM Orientation, will focus on the Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM) philosophy, and the TCOM Tools (CANS, ANSA, FAST). The 2nd workshop hosted in July 2022 is a Certified Trainer Training, which will focus on creating training materials that represent the core concepts of communimetrics and the TCOM framework.
Presenters for this workshop will be from the Center for Innovation in Population Health, including Cassandra Cooper, MA, LCPC, Brandon Howlett, MSEd, and Joanne Trinkle, MSW, who are all Senior Policy Analysts at the University of Kentucky.
2-Day TCOM Orientation and CANS/ANSA/FAST Overview
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the TCOM philosophy and how it guides the development of a shared vision for children, families, providers, and systems.
- Understand the role of structured assessments in the human service system as demonstrated by the ability to identify the linkage between the assessment and the planning process.
- Describe the purpose of the CANS, ANSA, or FAST.
- Understand how the ratings will be used to support system of care philosophy through identifying a shared vision for the treatment team

2-Day CANS/ANSA/FAST Certified Trainer Training
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the context in which the CANS, ANSA or FAST is being used.
- Describe the key principles of a communimetric tool and its application
- in rating the items.
- Create training materials that demonstrate the understanding of core
- concepts including:
- Develop examples illustrating the Six key principles of a communimetric tool
- Develop domain level vignettes providing practice on identifying specific domain items and application of the action levels
- Produce one training vignette with recommended action levels and rationale
- Develop an action plan based on the trainer developed vignette and action levels
