What is TCOM Training​

TCOM Training prepares professionals for TCOM tool certification. It includes taking the self-paced online training and may include live training or coaching.

The tools were created based on the TCOM conceptual framework, aimed at transforming managing systems, organizations, and programs whose mission is to help people change their lives in a way that is meaningful to them.

Where is TCOM training?

TCOMtraining.com serves as the central hub for TCOM training and certification activities. In addition to self-paced courses for certification/recertification of TCOM, the site also provides access to training resources and program information.

Users can register for live training events and manage their certification activities in one place. By bringing these functions together, the website helps ensure that individuals and organizations can easily access the resources needed to learn, maintain certification, and stay connected to the broader TCOM training community.

The Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS)
The CANS is a multi-purpose tool developed for children’s services to support decision making, including level of care and service planning, to facilitate quality improvement initiatives, and to allow for the monitoring of outcomes of services. Versions of the CANS are currently used in 50 states in child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, and early intervention applications.

The Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA)
The ANSA is a multi-purpose tool developed for adult’s behavioral health services to support decision making, including level of care and service planning, to facilitate quality improvement initiatives, and to allow for the monitoring of outcomes of services. The ANSA is currently used in a number of states and Canada in applications hospitals, emergency departments, psychosocial rehabilitation programs, and ACT programs.

The Family Advocacy and Support Tool (FAST)
The FAST s a family-based version of the suite of TCOM tools. The FAST is a communimetric tool. It is designed to maximize communication about the needs and strengths of families. The FAST includes ratings of the Family Together, each Caregiver, and all children and youth. Interventions in the family system can be directed at that system or to address the individual needs of family members or dyadic relationships within the family.

Crisis Assessment Tool (CAT)
The CAT, is a decision support and communication tool to allow for the rapid and consistent communication of the needs of children experiencing a crisis that threatens their safety or well-being or the safety of the community. It is intended to be completed by the individuals who are directly involved with the youth. The form serves as both a decision support tool and as documentation of the identified needs of the child served along with the decisions made with regard to treatment and placement at the time of the crisis.

Readiness Inventory for Successful Entrepreneurship (RISE)
The RISE is an entrepreneurship skills assessment tool that measures the level of skill of an individual entrepreneur or the complementary skills of an entrepreneurial team. Entrepreneurs are paired with a coach to take the assessment and to use the results to mutually develop an action plan for addressing skill weaknesses and leveraging skill strengths. The tool can be used to establish a skills baseline and track progress toward skill development.
